I build stores and then keep them running.
Most Shopify developers have built a store. Fewer have had to keep one running while two million customers use it. That difference is most of what shapes how I work.
Background
I lead Shopify development for a consumer tech brand serving more than two million customers. I own the storefront end to end: theme architecture, custom sections, performance, and the internal tools the operations team uses every day.
Before that I built Shopify stores for agency clients across the UK, Australia and Pakistan, and custom WordPress systems before those. Working inside other people’s codebases, inheriting undocumented customisations and having to change things without breaking anything is where most of what I know came from.
Alongside Shopify I build applications in React, Next.js and TypeScript. It matters more than it sounds: when a project needs a headless storefront, a real integration or custom business logic, that work does not get refused or handed to someone else.
How I work
Staging, always
Your live store is never the test environment. Everything is built on a duplicated theme and nothing is published until you have seen it working.
Numbers, not adjectives
You get before and after measurements. If a change did not move anything, I would rather tell you that than describe it as feeling faster.
Code you are not trapped in
Commented, documented, and structured so the next developer can read it without calling me. Being hard to replace is not a business model.
The honest no
If a forty-dollar app solves your problem better than two thousand dollars of custom work, I will say so and lose the work. Three years of a client beats one invoice.
